If we can bring a smile to a child, or a parent’s face with a quip, a story, a joke or a comment, then it can brighten their day, and maybe the cancer that they’d re fighting isn’t so bad after all.

But maybe this day was meant to happen as part of my learning about what parents feel, what kids feel.
