This Ride isn’t about the riding. Nope. The main thing about this Ride is to raise awareness and contributions to a marvelous charity dedicated to helping kids and their families live with and beyond cancer. A charity that has inspired me ever since my first ride with them 13 years ago – the first day of the first year of “Tour for Kids”. Where 100% of receipted donations go directly to the cause.

So the chance to be allowed to join “The Chase” Team of only 8 riders this September … riding the 6,000 kms from Vancouver to Halifax, from the Pacific to the Atlantic in a straight shot across the second largest country in the world, in 8 days and 8 nights … to raise awareness and money for such a just cause for such an unjust disease … compels me to get going and give.

Riding across the country has been on my bucket list for many years. In 2009 I joined in half the way, now this year will be the Full Monty – for three main reasons: I think I can do it, so let’s see; if not now, when?; and “The love you take … is equal to the love you make.” final lines, Abbey Road, the Beatles.
To anyone who knows me, surely an enticing reason to donate: pain for me and pleasure for the kids.
