National Kids Cancer Ride

Ride Hard…

Well, we’re going to get to know each other through my blog and I thought I should come clean right away…

I love to laugh. In fact, along with my brother, Rich, and daughter, Amie, we cycle by the motto:  Ride Hard. Laugh Harder.  Some of the best belly laughs I’ve ever had have been either on the bike or at camp.  Which is why Tour for Kids rides held such an appeal for me.  They combined my desire to do something to fight cancer, give kids a chance to experience the wild craziness of camp, and use my love of cycling for good!

And now that I’ve been given the privilege to ride across Canada as a member of SNKCR2017, I’m so pumped.  Yes, the training will be a challenge, as well as the fundraising, but to be able to give families dealing with childhood cancer, the chance for an escape to a place filled with laughter, energy, and the distraction of silliness is the best reason I know to take on the challenge. It’s nothing compared to what 1 in 4 kids in Canada experience.  My 10 months of training is nothing compared to the years kids and their families spend working towards a life cancer-free.

So yes, I can do this with the hope that if I Ride Hard someone else can Laugh Harder.
